EMLL-

(Arena Coliseo) Safari, Mr. Niebla, Olimpico vs Violencia, Hijo del Pierroth, Gran Markus-  First fall is mostly the Boriquas triple teaming, until Mr. Niebla escapes the stampeding Gran Markus in the corner and hits Pierroth Jr and Violencia with a clothesline.  He then assists Olimpico into a dropkick taking both guys out, then the tecnicos hit stereo tope suicidas near the corner! In the ring, Safari uses a plancha and then a huracanrana to pin Markus. Second fall, the tecnicos get some more offense in.  Crowd is very behind Olimpico.  Out of nowhere, the rudos take over and quickly even the falls after a Markus fat splash on Olimpico & Violencia senton atomico. In the third, Safari avoids a twisting senton splash and then uses a reverse cradle to pin Violencia. He then dives onto Gran Markus on the floor, but is caught and rammed into the post. At this time, Olimpico takes off and does another nearpost tope onto Markus! Niebla is left with the son of Pierroth, however ends up winning by DQ as the rudo uses a low blow in sight of the ref. [.50] Some decent action here and there. Hijo del Pierroth is terrible. I mean, Caras Jr. is green, but at least he knows a few moves and holds.

MOMENTOS

Nuetron with a gorgeous moonsault off the corner post!
Tony Rivera with a flying huracanrana
Tzuki with a bullet somersault dive through the ropes
Ricky Marvin with a smooth no-hands springboard tornillo!
Virus with a tombstone lift into a reverse powerbomb!

(Arena Coliseo) Ringo Mendoza, Rayo de Jalisco, Atlantis vs Cien Caras, Scorpio Jr, Fuerza Guerrera-  Wow. I didn’t hear anything about EMLL holding a legends match this week! Before the match Rayo cuts a promo basically telling the Dinimita to watch out as he wants Universo’s world title and mask. Rudos take the first fall with a sneaky low blow by Fuerza on Rayo. Second fall is the comeback fall for the tecnicos, and they win with Ringo using his ringuina on Fuerza while Atlantis rolled up Scorpio. Third fall is more or less a squash. Rayo uses a reverse tope on Cien while Atlantis uses the Atlantida  on Fuerza. [.25] This might have been good a decade or two ago. The match was at least clean so I gave it mercy points.

(Arena Mexico) Gigante Silva, Villano III, Villano IV vs Blue Panther, El Signo, Apollo Dantes, Universo 2000- Na-nanana-nana-nana SILVA TIME~! At least Blue Panther and Signo gets to school the Villanos a bit before Silva comes in and goes on a rampage. Villano IV takes out Blue with a dive, so Silva uses a plancha(yes off the top cross-body) to pin Universo and Apollo at once. [cero]

EMLL talks with Perro Aguayo about some stuff. Unfortunately I can’t understand Perro’s dialect for the life of me so I can’t tell you most of what he said. He wants to come back, get revenge, thinks Universo used a piledriver etc., etc., etc.

Now Shocker, Satanico, and Black Warrior are sitting down and having lunch. They basically say they want to exterminate the Infernales, especially Ultimo Guerrero. The speed of Black Warrior, Excellence of Shocker and Experience of Satanico.

(Arena Mexico) Ultimo Guerrero, Emilio Charles Jr, Bestia Salvaje vs Shocker, Satanico, Black Warrior (rudos vs rudos)-
Ultimo and his partners do not wait for the bell. They get right into the stomp downs, tossing and mask ripping. Bestia ends up wedging Shocker’s leg in the ringside chairs, while Ultimo puts Satanico in a tree of woe and chokes him.  Once those two are taken care of, Ultimo and friends move to Warrior. Guerrero ends up ripping off his entire mask, as after a flattening via Guerrero’s boot, the mask makes a nice weapon for choking Satanico with! Que rudo! Black Warrior leaves to get a new mask, as the Guerrero-led rudos beat on Satanico some more. When Warrior returns he wastes no time getting back into the match as he leaps over the top rope with a tope on Guerrero, then starts dropkicking people in the face all over. Shocker takes Charles out of the match with a "planchita". Guerrero then dropkicks Bestia out of the ring and dives onto him with an awesome looking bullet tope suicida!!! Amazing. Satanico ends up faking a foul on Guerrero, but while Guerrero holds back the refs from raising his hand, Charles runs over and gives him a kick in the happy area anyway. After the match Warrior asks for a combination masks and hairs match, but they settle on Super Libre. [full point] A good match, although a bit heavy on the rudo stuff. It’s nice to see Guerrero main event Arena Mexico, where he should be and not Perro, Rayo, or the Dinimitias.

AAA(From San Luis Potosi)

First they Re-air Womanhunters/Tiffany vs. Alda/Cinthia Moreno/Lady Apache from Jalapa. The tecnicas won this one with the fat rudas splashed the ref.

Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Psicosis, Rocky Marvin vs Mascarita Segrada, Octagoncito, La Parkita- First fall is dominated early by the rudos, however the tecnicos are able to make things fair when Parkita starts fighting back. The tecniquitos do some armdrags and stuff, and all is clam until Octagoncito sends Mini Psic out through the ropes with a segadora, and then uses a top rope quebrada- and lands on his feet!!!! An unbelievable dive. Parkita dives onto Marvin but the camera misses it. Mascarita nails Abismito with a great huracanrana, then goes for another, Abismo pulls him up for a powerbomb, but Mascarita counters _that_ into a sunset flip and gets the three count! Great fall.  Abismito sets the tone for the second fall early as he fouls Parkita when he tries to dance.  The rudos own the ring for most of the fall, and  make things personal as they bring in a chair to use on Mascarita and Octagoncito.  Abismo ends up pinning Octagon with a frog splash across the ring. Mascarita’s arm is hurt and he has to be taken to the back. The rudos use the chair some more in the beginning of the third. This backfires for them as a missed shot rebounds off the ropes and into Abismito’s face.  Now they start going back and forth a bit, with nearfalls and dive teases all over.  Mascarita makes his way back to the ring in a cast, only to be grabbed and held for a dive by Mini Abismo. However, this plan also goes awry as Mascarita breaks free, and Psicosis hits his partner with a through the ropes spinning headscissors. Octagoncito gets a slow count with a huracanrana on Marvin. Marvin then hits him and locks in the Gory Special, but Mascarita enters the ring and low blows Marvin, then Octagoncito does a sunset flip and gets the three count!

This was awesome. Tons of great work and a clean finish. I love  AAA mini’s when Mini Abismo is there to hold things together. This match might get ***1/4 or so. Definitely worth seeing.

Nygma, Espiritu, Silver Cat & Picudo vs Chessman, Mascara Maligna, Kuervo & Escoria- Note Maligna is taking the place of an injured Charly Manson. This is a complete brawl, with tons of quadruple teaming by the Black Family. Escoria pins Picudo with a flying legdrop. Second fall is more of the same, except the Vatos have their token comeback and they do lots of cool stuff with it. Silver Cat does a spiral powerbomb, then the Vatos hit the quadruple dropkicks to the head. In another, Nygma nails a top rope powerbomb. Vatos take this one.  Third fall things get even more chaotic as the brawl spills back into the stands.  Both teams find their way back and a trainwreck sequence begins. Kuervo with a through the ropes crossbody. Silver Cat with a great Ciclon Ramirez like tope. Maligna with a beefy pescado. Then it looks like Chessman is going to assist Escoria into a somersault dive, however earlier in the match Escoria had "gasoline" spilled on him. As he flies over the ropes, Picudo uses his blowtorch and sets Escoria on fire and he crashes and burns! In-fucking-sane. Chessman tries to jump onto Picudo with a dive, but gets blow-torched himself. Two Vatos then hit splashes from opposite corners on him and get the win.

This was great for a wild lucha match. I dig both these teams’ brawls, and this one was as fun as hell.  See this is how I can dig AAA, sure they can’t compare to the technique of EMLL, but they do have some hardworking wrestlers who will go out to try and put on an entertaining match.

Overall: EMLL I liked the opener and main, but the stuff in between was awful. I think I felt the same way last week, too. Some of their angles are going well, but they flirt too much with pushing guys I can’t be bothered to see unless masks and hair are on the line, like Rayo and the Capos and Silva. AAA was good again this week. Two really fun matches.
