An important note about these analyses: I receive a number of e-mails a month concerning these analysis pages. They range from helpful suggestions on alternate lines that might be included to scathing missives along the lines of "You [expletive deleted] moron! Everyone knows that the line you give for the Icelandic Gambit is complete [expletive deleted]! I busted that opening years ago by playing [insert move here]", etc.
The lines I give for the individual openings in this section aren't intended as an ECO-style complete "gospel" approach to the openings in question. They're merely illustrative examples to give the reader an notion of the ideas contained in that opening. They're to be considered a "jumping-off point" for the reader to do his own exploration of the opening, both by examing the games provided in the downloadable databases and trying the opening in practical (hopefully casual, at least initially) play. Consequently, while constructive suggestions on these openings are always welcome, the pages themselves aren't likely to be changed.
Likewise, the downloadable databases aren't updated weekly or monthly (as some readers have suggested). For one thing, many of these openings aren't often seen in top-level play, so the databases are still generally complete as provided here. Another reason is that the Chess Kamikaze Homepage is a hobby page for me, not my career, and constantly updating these databases would be entirely too time-consuming for me. Players interested in keeping their databases of these openings current are strongly advised to download The Week in Chess (the link is provided on the Links page), which contains 500 to 1500 games each week, in conjunction with a database management tool such as the commercial program ChessBase, the free demo version ChessBase Light, some other commercial database program, or any of the free amateur-programmed database management software tools downloadable from various sites on the Internet.
