New York City's official registry lists 4986 people missing as of Oct. 4, 2001. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said nationals from 62 countries were among the missing (foreign casualties).

The Pentagon reports 125 staffers killed or missing along with the 64 people on the plane; 118 sets of remains have been recovered and have been transported to Dover Air Force Base, Del. for identification. One person died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.
