Most of the tutorials below I have compiled myself, bar one so far, the Custom Message one by Sync. Most of the tutorials require DEDIT (included in the NOLF tools). The tutorials are chronologically ordered. Oh, and I've transcribed the old text files to HTML.
Custom Messages, by Sync
This tutorial contains just about everything you need to make your own DLL for NOLF, which allows you to make new objectives, text, subtitles, and weapon, gadget and gear names. You will need to have some components of Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 (to do with compiling resource files), and a little programming experience.
AlarmSystem_Camera - No. 5
Want to add another challenge to your level? This tutorial describes how to add a camera based alarm system. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to make the AI react to the alarm going off yet, so it's really just the basics.
Example 4 - Hinged doors
Sick of boring sliding doors? Add a hinged door! The real basics on setting up two hinged doors. What else can I say?
Example 3 - Funny Conversations
Some levels get a bit monotonous after a while. Hum-ho, another HARM guard hits the dust. Wait a minute, what did he say? He gets friendly with sheep? Oh dear.... Anyway, download this tut and you'll have your AI nattering in no time.
Example 2 - AI and Weaponry
I know this sounds a bit strange, but a level just isn't a level without anything to shoot with, or to shoot, or to be shot at by. This tutorial describes just how to add the above criteria.
Example 1 - Sliding Doors
Click. Open. Click. Shut. Two rooms, only one way to get through. Luck is on your side, there's a door. Infiltrate the base and... Enough rubbish. Adds a sliding door.
