FITS BARBIE DOLL

MATERIALS:
600 yards crochet cotton, size 10
300 yards, crochet cotton, size 30
size 7 steel crochet hook
size 10 steel crochet hook
embroidery flos or beads, if desired.

DIRECTIONS:

BODICE:
Front: Using size 10 thread and size 7 hook, chain 22
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc across (20 sc). Ch 1. Turn.
Row 2: *Sc in next 5 st, 2 sc in next*. Repeat across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 3-4: Sc in each st across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 5: *Sc in first 3 st, 2 sc in next st*. Repeat across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 6: *Sc in first 2 st, 2 sc in next*. Repeat 4 times. Sc in remainder of row. ch 1. turn.
Row 7-8: *Sc in first 4 st, 2 sc innext st*. Repeat across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 9: Sc in first 6 st, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 2 st. 2 sc in next. Sc in next 12 st. 2 sc in next. *Sc in next 5 st, 2 sc in next* 5 times. Sc in last st. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 10: Sc across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 11: Sc in 1st 3 st. Dec (sc 2 st together). *Sc in next 2 st. Dec*. Repeat across. Ch 1. turn.
Row 12: Sc in first 6 st. Dec. *Sc in next 4 st. Dec* 5 times. Sc in next 6 st. Dec. Sc in next 6 st. Ch 1. Turn.

BACK:
Row 1: Sc in 1st 7 st of bodice row 12. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 2-3: Sc in each st across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 4-8: Sc in 1st 3 st. Ch 1. Turn. Fasten off after row 8.
Repeat rows 1-8 for opposite side.

FRONT STRAP:
Row 1: Sc to within 2 sc from opposite side. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 2: *Sc in first 5 st, dec* across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 3: Sc across. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 4-7: Sc in 1st 3 st. Ch 1. Turn. Fasten off.
Repeat rows 1-7 for opposite side. Sew front and back straps together.

SLEEVES:
Using size 30 crochet cotton and size 10 hook, join thread to bottom of armhole formed by sewing the front and back together.

Rnd 1: Ch 1. Sc evenly around armhole. Join.
Rnd 2: Ch 2. Turn. *Sc, ch 1, dc* (V st) in 2nd st. *Skip 1 st, V st in next st*. Repeat around. Should have 10 V sts. Join. Ch 2. Do NOT Turn.
Rnd 3-10: V st in each ch 1 space around. Join to top of ch 2. Do not turn. Ch 1.
Rnd 11: V st in same st as same 2 (counts as 1 inc V st). 1 V st in each ch 1 space around. Join. Ch 2.
Rnd 12: V st in each ch 1 space around. Join. Ch 2.
Rnd 13-16: Repeat rows 11 & 12 alternately.
Rnd 17: *4 sc in 1st ch 1 space. Sl st in next ch 1 space*. Repeat around. Fasten off.
Repeat for other sleeve.

BODICE NECK TRIM:
Using size 30 crochet thread and size 10 hook, join at back top corner so that you will be working with the right side facing you. Ch 1.

Row 1. Work 4 dc in the first st. Sl st in next st. Continue around, easing around inside corners to lay flat. Finish off.

SKIRT:
This makes a very full, flowing skirt. To decrease the fullness, change row 1 as given inside [ ]. Using size 10 crochet cotton and size 7 hook, join thread to bottom corner of bodice. Ch 2.
Row 1: V st in each chain of base chain of bodice [1 dc in each chain]. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 2: Sc, dc, sc in each dc across. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 3: V st in secod st. *Skip 1 st, V st*. Repeat across. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 4: V st in each ch 1 space across. Ch 2. Turn.
Rnd 5-20 Repeat row 4. Join ends of each row, starting with row 5, with a sl st in the top of the ch 2.
Rnd 21. Ch 7. *3 dc between 1st and 2nd V st. Ch 4. *Repeat round to last space. 2 sc. Join to 3rd ch of ch 7. Fasten off. Sew snaps where needed on back of bodice.
