VALORIZATION

Valorization - the process through which symbolic forms attain value; both symbolic value and economic value. In Nazi Germany, for example, the ancient symbol of the swastika became symbolically valorized through its use as a potent symbol, first for the party, and then for the Third Reich. Today, corporate symbols belonging to corporations such as Nike and Apple have huge economic and even symbolic value.
