Portland Timbers add Burciaga Jr. at A-League roster freeze deadline
Tolstolutsky and Ochoa on loan to Los Angeles Galaxy

Portland, Ore. The Portland Timbers placed Kansas City Wizards (MLS) defender/midfielder Jose Burciaga Jr. on its final roster today as the A-Leagues roster freeze went into effect at 1 p.m. PDT.

Bob Gansler, the head coach at Kansas City, has indicated that Jose could be made available on loan in the coming weeks, said Jim Taylor, Timbers general manager.  Hell be training with us again this week and will be available for selection in the Vancouver match on Friday.  He certainly supplied us with a spark yesterday in a tough loss at Rochester.

Burciaga Jr., 19, is a Pro-40 player and was the 12th player selected in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft by Kansas City.  He started in place of Scott Benedetti who was serving a one-game suspension for exceeding the A-Leagues disciplinary point limit.

The Timbers also announced today that they have loaned Vadim Tolstolutsky and Jesus Ochoa to the Los Angeles Galaxy for their exhibition match tomorrow night against Necaxa (Mexico) in Sacramento.  Both Tolstolutsky and Ochoa will return to Portland in time for the Timbers crucial Western Conference match Friday night in Vancouver, BC against the Whitecaps.  The match will be broadcast on AM 1360 KUIK and on the Internet at Oregonlive.com.
