Bettendorf should decide on pool tonight

The Bettendorf Park Board will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. today to discuss final plans for renovations to the Splash Landing Aquatic Center, the city’s problem-plagued swimming pool that was closed for most of the summer.

WASHINGTON -- Despite an intensive monthlong investigation, the Bush administration has not been able to determine whether deadly anthrax attacks were the work of domestic criminals or overseas terrorists, Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge said Wednesday.
