K3WWP Ham Radio Activities
Hello! I'm John from Kittanning, PA, USA. I've made this web site to promote Morse Code operation on the ham bands by showing what is possible when using CW with only 5 watts and simple wire antennas. If you have limited antenna space, a less than ideal location, and can't run high power, check what I have done with those limitations and realize that you can do the same, especially by using CW. I am also trying to provide many helpful features for all hams including QSL route info, a listing of QRP rigs, daily propagation info, and much more. Be sure to check everything. I'm sure you'll find something of use to you. Please vote in my poll and sign my guestbook while you're here. K3WWP's Ham Radio Activities became 5 years old on 8-Sep-2001. That makes it one of the oldest ham radio web sites. Thanks for your support all those years.

NEWS . . . POLL . . . GUESTBOOK . . . QRP QSO OF THE DAY
Wednesday, November 21, 2001 - I am now the proud owner of the FISTS Platinum award. I just received an eMail from Dennis K6DF telling me my application was accepted and I will receive the award (# 220) in the mail in a few days.

Wednesday, November 21, 2001 - I think I should try to clarify the item about the X-Files episode that features Morse Code. The air date for the particular episode was originally December 9th, then it was changed to December 16th, and now it's back to December 9th. Rob, WA6CW who is an actor and is a technical advisor on the show has been keeping me up to date on this and also has provided some interesting background info on the show which you can read here. Briefly, the show has star Robert Patrick's character, John Doggett in a hospital bed, paralyzed, and required to send a Morse code message by tapping his index finger. WA6CW taught Patrick how to tap out the message at about 5 WPM. "He was a fast learner," Rob commented. The episode, entitled "4-D," is scheduled to air Sunday, December 9, on the Fox TV Network. Be sure to check your local TV listings for the air date, which as I said has been juggled around the past couple weeks.

Thursday, November 15, 2001 - The new poll is here. Thanks for the wonderful response to the last one. This poll is one of those that help me find out some info about my site. This type of poll may not be as interesting to you as some of the other types, but it is extremely helpful to me and the direction this web site takes. The last time we did this, you helped me a lot in changing my priorities for the features on the web site, and helped me eliminate some deadwood from the site. Please vote thoughtfully. Thanks.

I am very excited about electronic or on-line QSLs. This will be a great money saver when it is fully implemented and accepted by the various awards organizations. Enter your call in the following form to find out more info and/or to check to see if you might already have some eQSL's waiting your retrieval. All of my QRP QSO's from 1993 through the end of the previous month are on-line for QSL retrieval. So if you worked me during that time, there is at least one card there for you.
Enter your callsign to see if you have an eQSL waiting!

Remember my site is available from two different hosts. Be sure both are in your favorites by right clicking the following and selecting 'Add to Favorites...' (IE) -or- 'Add Bookmark' (NS). Then if one is down, you'll be able to access my site from the other.

When I worked Chuck, KG9N/C6A as my first QSO of August 5, 1994, that started a still continuing streak of making one or more QSO's each day using QRP, Morse Code, and simple wire antennas. As of Oct 31, 2001 the streak stood at 2645 days and 31,253 QSO's with 8,315 of the QSO's being DX (non-W/VE). Check my Streak Update report for more details. The table below lists one or two of the QSO's from the latest 10 days of the streak. The last column lists one of the DX stations (if any) that I worked that day. See 154 Days of DX for details of a 154 day streak of working DX I had in early 2000. Thanks to everyone I work, not just those stations listed below. To see all my QRP QSO's, check the Logs section.
