  • GENEALOGY OF THE POLISH ANALYTICAL PHILOSOPHY

Here We tried to show the roots of some important Polish analytical philosophers and logicians. We mentioned only those whose works are worthy of presentation to international audience and have not only historical value. Of course the selection is arbitrary and based only on the intuitive meaning of 'the analytic philosophy', so it can not be regarded as a complete list of analytical philosophers and logicians which have ever been working in Poland.

    What the diagram presents?

First of all we wanted to show the roots of Polish Analytical Philosophy in general. Despite the relations between teachers and their students there are important divisions among Polish philosophers. There are three generations of philosophers from The Lvov-Warsaw School (marked with different colours and symbols: '1-st gen.', '2-nd gen.' and '3-rd gen.'). We also put together groups of philosophers from "The Warsaw School of Logic" and "The Cracow Circle". We plane to describe the most important ideas of all Polish philosophers mentioned in the diagram. To get more datailed lists see
