Tell the Village of Hempstead, Long Island, Not to Repeal Its Living Wage!

On October 16, the Village of Hempstead passed a living wage of $10.25 per hour, or $9 with benefits. The Mayor and Trustees are considering repealing the law. The Hempstead Living Wage covers companies that receive public money in the form of subsidies, tax abatements, and contracts.

Call Mayor Garner and tell him that our tax dollars should not go to companies that pay poverty wages! Call (516) 489-3400 and dial 0 for an operator.
