Timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Academy-Award winning Steven Spielberg film, NewKidCo's E.T. line will be released in three phases, from holiday 2001 through the end of 2002, covering two holiday seasons. While the games will have their basis in the original E.T. story, the line will feature all-new interactive storylines and environments, including E.T.'s home planet.
NewKidCo's Little League line, consisting of four titles to be developed in 2002, will feature nine characters in authentic games of varying skill level that employ Little League rules and regulations. Both lines will be supported with full-scale marketing and publicity campaigns.
NewKidCo has licenses to create games for all existing and next-generation interactive entertainment systems, including PlayStation One and PlayStation2 from Sony, Nintendo's Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64 and Game Cube, and Microsoft's Xbox. The company distributes its products directly in North America and in Europe, Australia and New Zealand through Ubi Soft Entertainment S.A. NewKidCo has also entered into discussions with publishers in Japan to distribute its games in the Pacific Rim.
NewKidCo benefits from strong consumer awareness due to the company's well-known licenses and the strong relationships that the company maintains with key retail outlets, including Toys R Us, Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, KB Toys, Sears, GameStop and Electronics Boutique, among others.
