The Cook College Student Organic Farm is the nation's largest organic farm managed by university students. In its seventh year, this farm is operated as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project. Under this CSA model, families and households invest in the farming skills of Cook College students in return for a weekly share of organically grown food. The students cultivate and maintain three acres of land on the Cook College Campus, and provide food for its 120 subscribing members and Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen. The organic farm provides students with paid summer internships and an educational experience difficult to find elsewhere in the country. Students manage all aspects of the CSA and coordinate produce donations and deliveries with Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen. The Cook Student Organic Farm offers Rutgers University students hands on experience in the production, and management of small organic farm enterprise.
