2002 Current Issues Survey
The third annual EDUCAUSE Current Issues Survey is now under way. Primary representatives from member institutions should have received an e-mail with the URL and ID number necessary to access the survey. Participation is vital for the survey, which will help EDUCAUSE (1) analyze and develop a report for distribution to the membership; (2) develop relevant educational events, activities, and publications that will best meet your needs; and (3) help us to provide information to external communities that need to understand the higher education IT environment. The report and data tables from the 2001 Current Issues Survey are available online.

Corporate Partners For 2002
Corporate participation supports the overall mission of EDUCAUSE, providing a margin of excellence to EDUCAUSE conferences, educational activities, publications, and programs. Each year, eligible participating corporations are recognized as Corporate Partners, those that provide outstanding support for the association. EDUCAUSE would like to extend its gratitude to all of the Corporate Partners for 2002.

Make plans for NERCOMP
The full program and registration are available online now for the NERCOMP 2002 conference, March 17–19, 2002, in Worcester, Massachusetts. This year's program addresses issues surrounding IT support in a 24 x 7 mode: What are the implications for support models? What tools will be necessary? What expectations should users have? Early registration cutoff is February 22.

EDUCAUSE finalizes Sunrise Period
EDUCAUSE has completed the Sunrise Period for the .edu domain, during which eligible institutions—including community colleges and other two-year schools—were able to request domain names, with an equal chance of receiving their desired name. Many institutions participated in the Sunrise Period and received new domain names. New registrants who meet the eligibility requirements can now request domain names on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, all management functions—including maintaining name server and host information, changing and releasing domain names, and updating technical and administrative contact information—are also available at the EDUCAUSE .edu Administration Web site.
