-- On the first 5000 copies of their debut EP, A Profound Hatred of Man, Shai Hulud's name is misspelled on the spine as, Shai Halud, but spelled correctly on the cover.

-- SHAI HULUD is still misspelled frequently. The most common mistakes are: Shy Hulud and Shai Halud. The worst misspellings the band ever saw were in Shutdown's Turning the Tide CD and Heartattack's review of Hearts Once Nourished...

-- The original drummer for Shai Hulud was Jason "Lion" Lederman, who now plays drums for Where Fear and Weapons Meet. Jason never did any studio recordings for the band.

-- Matt Fox played guitar for New Found Glory at two shows in 1998 when Chad was out of town visiting his brother.

-- Shai Hulud was signed to Crisis / Revelation by Rob Moran, bass player of Unbroken, who received their demo from Jeanne Probart, a friend that worked in Revelation's mail-order department.

-- Shai Hulud's first show was played on Halloween in 1996 at Discount's (a Florida based punk band) warehouse for under 50 people.

-- Shai Hulud was almost named Harkonnen, a character also from Dune. Ironically, Seattle, Washington spawned a band named Harkonnen and the two bands talked about doing a split record at one time.

-- In the thanks list of Hearts Once Nourished..., Will Haven is thanked twice.

-- The label that signed Shai Hulud, Crisis Records, released a 7" by California's Function, whose members went on to form 1134, the band Shai Hulud was supposed to share their first US tour with; the tour never happened.

-- On tour with Bloodlet in 1998, Shai Hulud chatted up Dave Brockey AKA Oderus Urungus, Gwar's lead vocalist, at Twisters in Richmond, Virginia.

-- Shai Hulud has named their streak of bad luck, "The Luck of the Lud."

-- Former drummer of Rorschach, Kiss it Goodbye and Die 116 - sir dude, Andrew Gormley, played drums for Shai Hulud on their first European tour in 1999.

-- Matt Fletcher saw Shai Hulud for the first time in Seattle, Washington in 1997 with Strongarm and NineIronSpitFire. Andrew Gormly was also at the show selling Kiss it Goodbye demos; little did they know they would be sharing the stage together two years later for a month in Europe.

-- Geert's old band, Through a Glass Darkly, covered Shai Hulud's Beliefs and Obsessions.

-- Although Revelation loved the Shai Hulud demo, they asked the band to change the name because they thought it was too difficult to remember.

-- For two consecutive months, Shai Hulud was featured in the Marvel Bullpen, found in most Marvel comics' titles.

-- In 1994, Steve Kleisath and Matt Fox met for the first time in Tampa, FL, when Matt was filling in on drums for Strongarm, the band Steve later joined as drummer.

-- The Trustkill site is wrong, that is not Matt Fox's butt on the cover of Hulud's split with Indecision; It's actually Josh Grabelle's of Trustkill Records. He'll deny it, of course. Don't believe that dirty pornographer...
