Melanie Wingo

    Melanie Wingo is currently the weekday news anchor/producer for the NewsWatch at 5,6 and 11.
    Before taking on the nightly newscast, she worked as an anchor/producer for the NewsWatch Live This Morning show.
    Melanie started as a general assignment reporter in Oregon while working for KDRV/KDKF as the Klamath Falls Bureau Chief covering news from all over the Klamath Basin before moving to Medford as a reporter.
    She worked behind the scenes as an assignment editor and satellite coordinator for WJAR-TV in Providence, Rhode Island and as an assignment desk assistant and production assistant at WHDH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts.
    Melanie got her first newsroom experience working as an intern for KNBC-TV and KCAL-TV in Los Angeles and the Orange County Newschannel near her home town in Southern California.
    Along with the weekday NewsWatch Team, Melanie received an Associated Press award for best News Program in Central and Southern Oregon.
    Melanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University in New York in 1996.
    She enjoys taking long power walks, cooking, traveling and spending time with her best friend and husband Thom Jensen.
