upcoming: a new record and some shows
The kicksilvers have been in the studio working on the follow up to their first recording, due out in September. It looks like being a five or more track EP, likely including live favourites 'Holly' and 'Hole in Time', as well as brand new never played songs. For those who saw the recent Punters Club show in Melbourne [before the pub closed], it seems the Irish hand drum is going to make it to tape on this recording!! The band are again working in a co-production role with Tim 'Teddy' Cleaver.
The kicksilvers will be travelling to Sydney in April for some shows, so Sydney fans will get a chance to see the band finally, probably at a venue around Newtown... news about this and other Melbourne shows pending...

News just in is that the kicksilvers will be playing as a duo at the soon to close Punters Club in Brunswick St, Melb., on Monday afternoon, 28 January (Australia Day holiday). new site stuff
New stuff on the site today - some long-awaited realaudio samples from the EP/single/whatever (definitely check these out if you havent got the cd, they sound great!); and an interview with caroline from the editor's choice, Beat Magazine.
Tuesday, December 04, 2001
Just a quick note to let you know that there'll be an interview with Caroline in the next issue (#4) of cul de sac, a zine of Adelaide origin. It should be out around 6 Dec, available from Big Star City, Grace Emily Hotel, and Prince Albert Hotel in Adelaide; Glebe Markets in Sydney; Town Hall Hotel and Sticky in Melbourne; 78 Records and Dada Records in Perth and Rockinghorse Records in Brissie.
In other news, work continues on all things musical and new, with Loaded Hill now getting the studio treatment in place of Flying Horses.

where are they now?
The Kicksilvers have been kicking back after recording another 3 songs for their debut album. These will already be familiar to anyone who's caught their live set - Flying Horses, Ever Again and the gorgeous ballad Holly. Added to these is a growing stockpile of new material being created at home by Peter and Caroline, much of which is yet to be heard on stage due to the more complex, layered sounds. These recordings are once more being done independently, and the band hopes to have an album's worth of songs (possibly as many as 16, with some thought given to a double disc) ready for release towards the end of next year.
On the live front, the Kicksilvers are currently on the bench, but look forward to a return around mid-2002, including some trips in the van to play shows along the east coast. There is also a possibility of a sojourn to Europe in the more distant future, following talks with UK-based booking agents and labels last July.
