Keighley division. The division covers a predominantly rural area
and its headquarters is based in Keighley Town centre on North

Craven, Ilkley, Keighley North, South and West, Rombalds, Bingley,

headquarters in Keighley there are sub-stations in Shipley, Bingley
The division attracts tourists to
Ilkley and Haworth – home of the famous Bronte sisters and the
Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway – as well as the tourist
attraction of Saltaire, Salts Mill, and Shipley Glenn. The large
Inland Revenue Centre and the Headquarters of the Bradford Health
Authority are also based in the division.
About the Divisional Commander
Ch Supt Sunderland, 41, is married with a son. He has 23 years
policing experience having joined the Force in 1978.
The majority of his service has been spent in CID and he has worked in
Halifax, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, and Odsal. He was the DCI at Toller
Lane for 18 months and was promoted to Superintendent in 1997 during
which time he set up new systems of intelligence and investigation for
He has spent some time as an instructor in detective training school
and at Discipline and Complaints at Force Headquarters.
His last post was as the senior
investigating officer for the Kirklees area dealing with major
inquiries. He also spent three years as the lead officer for public
protection within West Yorkshire, working with housing, social
services, Probation and health agencies.

He has a BA (Hons) degree in
Organisational Studies from Bradford and Ilkley College.
Hobbies include coaching Rastrick
Juniors and supporting Huddersfield Town Football Club.
