The 2002 Game Developers Conference, held in California recently, presented Lionhead with two highly sought-after awards.
Black & White won the "Excellence in Programming" award, and, specifically Richard Evans picked up a gong for the Artificial Intelligence in Black & White.
Speaking after the ceremony, Peter Molyneux said, "this is a triumph for the entire team. Any game is a joint effort, but after this the programmers can all take special pride in their work. We set boundaries, broke rules and pushed the envelope so severely that it was unrecognisable by all but the post office."
