  1. Nihon Bungaku
    A comprehensive list of links to downloadable Japanese literary texts from Kojiki to Shimazaki Tōson. Organized by time period and language.
  2. Kokubungaku Kenkyū Shiryōkan
  3. Aozora bunko (Blue Sky Archive)
    Has digitized more than 1200 titles as of the end of 2000.
  4. Mini-collection of Modern Japanese Literature
  5. Japanese Classical Literature Text Index
    Provides links to the Kokubungaku Kenkyū Shiryōkan and to various classical texts, including Genji, Kokinshū and Hyakunin isshū.
  6. Japanese Text Initiative
    Sponsored by the University of Virginia Library Electronic Text Center and the University of Pittsburgh East Asian Library, this is a collaborative effort to make texts of classical Japanese literature available on the World Wide Web.
  7. Kyoto University Library Electronic Library
    Includes full texts of many important literary texts (Kokin wakashū, Konjaku monogatari, Genji monogatari) as well as a searchable database of original materials from the Meiji restoration which can be enlarged and read on the web, and some Buddhist sutras (Daizōkyō, Shinshū texts and so forth).

  2. Genji monogatari
    An electronic Genji  in kana and kanji is on this server. It is the full Shōgakkan text, with page numbers and it has been encoded to facilitate certain kinds of searching. Those who are not on the Oxford U server have to ftp the order form (found in the textarchive.info and textarchive.form files), fill it out and send it back. The Genji text  can be sent to one's server for free (other media cost $$$). The etext number is U-1385-D.
