Ch Supt Andrew RennisonWelcome from
Divisional Commander
Ch Supt Andrew Rennison

Killingbeck Division covers the eastern area of the Leeds district and has a diverse resident population of nearly 160,000.

The area covered is a mix of inner city estates such as Seacroft, fomer mining villages like Garforth, dormitory towns and country villages. Among other areas covered are Swillington, Crossgates, Swarcliffe, Halton, Gipton, Aberford and Kippax.

During the last decade, the area has benefited from regeneration and there has been an explosion in housing stock and business developments. The extension of the M1 through the Division has clearly had an impact with major companies now attracted to the area.

Stately home Temple Newsam is often host to major music events – including opera and pop music – attracting visitors from all over the country. Killingbeck officers are involved in policing such events.

Chief Superintendent Andrew Rennison is the divisional commander. He moved to the East Leeds police division from West Yorkshire Police Headquarters where he was previously Director of Intelligence and Head of Scientific Support.

Chief Supt Rennison said: "We have seen significant drops in crime in Killingbeck over recent years. I am determined to continue that trend, working closely with the Leeds City Council and other partners to make Killingbeck a safer place to live and work."
