GAME RECAP

FORT WORTH - GAME RECAP

The Montgomery Wings were the enemy in this All-American Association game at Lon Goldstein Field in southern Fort Worth. After two scoreless innings, the Cats took the lead in the third on two singles and a sacrifice fly. They added two more runs in the fifth, but in the sixth, Cat starter Shane Wright had a bit of trouble, as did his defense which committed two errors as the Wings scored three to tie the game.

Wright was left in the game, and it was the right decision as he shut Montgomery down for the next three innings. However, his teammates couldn't capitalize on a couple of chances, and after 9 we were still knotted at 3.

Cat reliever and Fort Worth native Jackie Davidson came on in the 10th and made quick work of the Wings. In the bottom half, the first two Cat batters singled and after a strikeout, it was up to ,who hit a sharp ball to second base. Home-field advantage came into play as the potential double-play ball took a funny hop and the second baseman had no chance as the winning run scored.

This was a fun game - Wright pitched very well, and although the Cats made 3 errors and a couple of baserunning blunders, they managed to sneak out a win. This game gets a 7/10.
