For lists of the bishops of particular sees, with brief notes, follow the links on the table below. [Layout is experimental; to be completed as and when time allows. The provisional lists published in 1986 were drawn up before any systematic analysis had been undertaken of episcopal attestations in charters (except for the periods 850-950, and 978-1016).]
