Van der Perren has landed triple-triple-triple combinations in practice. Van der Perren is the first skater from
Belgium ever to medal at Junior World Championships. He is also the first male skater from Belgium to medal
at an ISU Championship since Fernand Leemans took the bronze at the 1947 European Championships. Van
der Perren started to skate as a ten year old after watching a ice show.  At this time, it was his dream to star in
the show.
