Interview with Misty Mundae

Secret Scroll Digest: Where are you from Misty?

Misty Mundae: Jersey.

SSD: What was your childhood like?

MM: Dysfunctional. Like everyone's.

SSD: How did you get your start in Fetish videos?

MM: Bill Hellfire (Factory 2000 director) asked me if I wanted to be his new B-movie starlet. I said sure. I had worked with him once in I was a Teenaged Strangler, but the part didn't involve any nudity. After I agreed that it would be kinky and fun, I was tied up to some rafters in his basement so that they could blindfold me, burn my nipples and slit my throat (Infamous Bondage Murders). Yes indeed, it was kinky and fun, and there was no turning back from then on.

SSD: What was your first film?

MM: I was a Teenaged Strangler. Guess what? I was strangled in it.

SSD: What do you remember about making it?

MM: I was pretty drunk; it was actually just a fun party, a camcorder happened to have been there, so we decided to make a wacky film. After shooting the party footage, Billy put together some incoherent wrap around footage, thus creating cinematic history.

SSD: You have been the star of many a strangulation video what do you think of the genre?

MM: What ever floats your boat, man!

SSD: IF its not too personal are you Bi or are your steamy lesbian scenes just acting?

MM: I don't think that any woman who wasn't bisexual would make a career out of lesbian soft-core pornography. In other words, yeah I dig chicks.

SSD: Tell us about working with Tina Krause,

MM: Tina has always been great to work with. She's totally inspirational because she's built a huge name for herself, just starting out doing the same types of weirdo strangulation flicks. Its just testimony to the fact that if you do have natural talent and beauty, you'll outshine everyone regardless of what avenue you decide to go down.

SSD: What was the shoot for Mummy Raider like?

MM: It was fun. I went with Darian (Caine) and Ruby (LaRocca) to Massachusetts for the weekend, which is cool because they're two of my favorite people to work with. And all the action sequences were a lot of fun, aside from the fear of breaking my ankles whilst dodging bullets in those six-inch platforms. I actually had a really great time filming that.

SSD: Had you ever fired a gun before doing Mummy Raider?

MM: Uh, I shot some clay pigeons when I was about nine or ten. I wasn't the greatest shot back then.

SSD: One of your newest films is Playmate of the Apes, what was the making of that like?

MM: Good times, bad times, the usual. The fact that it was shot on film as opposed to video made the duration of production a whole lot longer. Sometimes that's good, because you don't feel rushed like, OK we have to finish this feature length film in two days. Then again after two weeks have gone by working on the same production, you start ripping your hair out just trying to get it in the can.

SSD: What films are you currently working on?

MM: I'm actually going to LA first week of April (2002) with my sister (Chelsea Mundae) to star in a movie coincidentally titled "Sisters". I'm definitely looking forward to that.

SSD: Of the films you have done what film contains your best work?

MM: I've gotten nothing but good reviews for Playmate of the Apes. I dunnoƖ I'm really not a good judge of that.

SSD: We read that your directing a film is that correct? How's that working out?

MM: Hell yes. I've finished one already entitled Lustful Addiction (remake of the 1968 Nick Phillips film of the same name), and the other, Confessions of a Natural Beauty, is in postproduction. I'm pretty proud. Again, I'm extremely overcritical of all of my work, so I'll wait to get some feedback from my fans. I think they'll dig it.

SSD: What do you do between films?

MM: I go to school; I'm studying film. I play guitar, go out to bars and play pool, flirt, ya know, nothing too exciting.

SSD: What are your favorite movies?

MM: Oh that's too broad of a question. I dunno. I like Don't Look Now, Jacob's Ladder, Blow up, Eraser Head, El Topo, Martin, Deep Throat. I could go on and on. I have lots of favorite movies.

SSD: What would be on the menu for your perfect meal?

MM: Pu pu platter. No actually, I'm a vegetarian. How about scrambled tofu and barbecue flavored home fries?!

SSD: Where do you see your self in 5 years? 10 years?

MM: Thailand, Italy?!? I don't know, really! I'm too busy to think about it. Just havin' fun, now.
