About 50 people protested Benjamin Natanyahu presence in Canada in front of the Westin Hotel where the former prime minister was speaking. For about two hours, from 11 am to 1 pm on tuesday the 10th of september 2002, protesters, many of them non-arabs, shouted slogans in solidarity with Palestinians and destributed a warrant for the arrest of the supporter of ethnic cleansing. |

On Monday, Sept. 9th, Bush & Chretien will be meeting in Detroit. Bush will almost certainly use the opportunity to pressure Canada into joining the American campaign against Iraq. The meeting has been kept hush-hush in Canada for this reason.

Our Coalition to Stop Home Care Cuts is going to the Ottawa City Council Meeting at City Hall on Wednesday, August 28 at l:30 p.m. at the Andrew Haydon Hall (Main Floor). The reason for our attending the city council meeting is that we have sent the Mayor and the city coucillors a letter stating that we would like them to sponsor our September trip to Toronto to see Premier Ernie Eves. |

The 10 cyclists from Cycling for Sustainability came into Ottawa this last thursday (8th of August) evening, arriving from their last stop in Merrickville. They will be in Ottawa until August 12th and many activities are planned until then. The caravan seeks to promote sustainable lifestyle choices that Canadian citizens can incorporate into their daily lives, but also acknowledge the role of the community. |

The Garden Spot and Manufacturing Dissent held their weekley potluck this Wenesday evening at Dundonald Park in the goal of collecting text and artwork for a cookbook they are planning to release this September 2002. 15 people gathered in the park located at the corner of Lyon and Sommerset West. |
