Illegal Loggers Invade Primordial Peruvian Natives -- LIMA, Peru -- Mahogany loggers have invaded a reserve area for non-contacted native groups in Peru's southeastern jungle to illegally extract the highly prized lumber. A new series of one-hour radio programs commences on National Public Radio (NPR) and American Indian Radio on Satellite (AIROS) stations Nationwide in 2003. Our nationally-prominent production team is weaving a rich tapestry of Native American storytelling from gifted indigenous elders Intertwined with special features on natural health and healing, folklore performances, humor, as well as Native American music, traditional and contemporary. We are accepting produced pieces or field recordings to screen for use in this project. The average on air time for segments will be approximately 8 min. and we are also looking for really short info-tags that reflects Native American wisdom and humor, These could be 15 sec. to 1 min.

Shundahai Network Action For Nuclear Abolition, October 5 - 15, 2002. This past year the U.S. government has made moves to resume full scale nuclear weapons testing and open the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump in Newe Sogobia, the Western Shoshone Nation, already the most bombed nation on earth. Since 1951 over 1000 full scale nuclear weapons explosions have shook the desert there. During October 5th - 15th, 2002, an international nonviolent resistance to U.S. nuclear policies will occur at the upcoming Action for Nuclear Abolition events in Nevada.

A four-day international conference will be convened November 14 - 17, 2002, in Washington, DC, to explore the uniqueness, wealth and complexity of the healing traditions indigenous to the American continent, with emphasis on their potential for delivering culturally sensitive and effective health care.
