Kavithalaya hits its century

Balachander’s Kavithalaya that made many a box-office super hit including Annamalai, Muthu, etc. is now busy with its 100th movie, Paarthaale Paravasam, a mega budget movie. Madhavan is the hero and Simran and Sneha play his pair. A pair of heroines, that is.

Ragavendra, Lawrence, Vivek, Manivannan, Vali, Nizhalgal Ravi, Charile, Dhamu, Radhika Chaudhry, Seema and others are in the cast.

Five song sequences were recently shot for the movie. Madhavan - Sneha duet (Needhane en dhesiya geetam) was shot in Malaysia. Another with Madhavan and a team of dancers (Raathiriyin sondhakkaara) was shot in Ooty. A third song sequence, with Madhavan and Simran was on the floors of AVM. The fourth one, again a Madhavan - Simran duet was made in Cannanore.

The fifth was in the Vijaya Vahini Studios, in the grandest of sets. Lawrence and Simran danced for the fifth song, ‘Nadhir dhinna Nadhir dhinna’.

Balachander is known for his special touches. The way he picturised self-conscience in Moondru Mudichu, the ‘coughing old man’ of Edhir neechal among others would bring a smile of approval in the face of Balachander fans. He is coming out with another of his novel ideas and is introducing the family of Manivannan, Lawrence, Benjamin, Vadivukarasi and Vijaya as ‘Black and A family’. They are all shown in black makeup and are named Akilan, Arivu, Azhagu, Aandal and Anitha.

Dhamu is appearing as Chinna Annamalai. It is believed that this character would fetch him all focus and attention.
