Productions' Erica Lively and Sasha Crnobrnja, party throwers
and suppliers of vintage clothing to places like Patricia Field's
and Naked Ape, scoured the East Village before finally choosing
this stretch of dilapidated bargain marts to showcase the best
of their finds from the 60's, 70's and 80's, complemented by
new designs by Crnobrnja. Although the shop's loose, youthful
vibe is almost jarring in this seting, choosing an overlooked
Orchard St. address was in keeping with the team's low-key mission.
The result: Timtoum's eclectic yet completely wearable men's
and women's collections ($12-$200), rounded out with a correspondingly
funky mix of hats, bags (including marvelous crocheted handbags,
($15-$18) and records. Already, Lively and Crnobrnja are busy
planning a full roster of events to celebrate their new home.
Here's betting an injection of Go Global style is just what the
neighborhood needs.
