Materials:

Bedspread weight #10 thread: Approx. 75 yards.

(Model made using Knit Cro-Sheen in Almond Pink)

Crochet Hook Size 9 (1.25 mm) steel,

or size needed for gauge. (Model made using Susan Bates #9)

Gauge: 8 sp or bl = 2 inches, OR 9 rows = 2 inches

Finished Size: 7 inches wide x 4 inches tall

Skill Level: Beginner

 

Basics:

To work one block (bl) over a space (sp): Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc.

To work one bl over a bl: Dc in next 4 dc.

To work additional adjacent bl: Add 3 dc for each additional adjacent bl. (For example: 1 bl = 4 dc, 3 bl = 10 dc)

To work one sp: Dc in next st, ch 2, sk next 2 st, dc in next st.

 

Instructions:

Chart is worked from bottom to top.

Ch 81.

Row 1 - Dc in 8th ch from hk; (ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch) across. Ch 5, turn. (25 sp)

Row 2 - Sk first sp, dc in dc; (ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next dc) across to within last sp. Ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch of turning ch. Ch 5, turn. (25 sp)

Row 3 - Sk first sp, dc in dc; (ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next dc) 6 times. (2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc) 3 times. (Ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in dc) twice. 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc; (ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in dc) twice. (2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc) 3 times. (Ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in dc) across to within last sp. Ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch of turning ch. Ch 5, turn. (18 sp, 7 bl)

Rows 4 -15 - Follow chart; Do not finish off.

 

Edging:

Row 1 - Ch 1, do not turn; *Work 2 sc in each sp around to corner. Work 3 more sc in corner (for a total of 5 sc in corner). Repeat from * 3 times; join with sl st to first sc.

Row 2 - Ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 1 (sc in next sc, ch 1) around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off.
