We would like to thank everyone who participated in our CBC 50th Anniversary
VIA Train events in September and October at communities across Canada.
The "Celebrating Canada's Own" contest was open to all who attended.

All aboard!
CBC-TV reached out to Canadians through "open house" events in
communities across the country. From Victoria to St. John's, Viewers had
a chance to met CBC personalities, watch live broadcasts, enjoy entertainment
and participate in activities.
On September 7, CBC/Radio-Canada's 50th Anniversary VIA Rail Train
left Vancouver on a coast-to-coast trip that took it to communities across
Canada. In partnership with VIA Rail Canada, this "travelling open
house" was equipped with:
• Two on-board museum exhibit cars
• Dynamic interactive displays:
- Themed
activity tents
- The
CBC-TV Celebrity Centre and Information/Contest Desk
- A
mobile production trailer
• An on-board studio car for broadcasts
Visitors also enjoyed appearances by CBC-TV personalities, live broadcasts,
and entertainment, too.
The CBC
Boutique was on hand at selected stops with 50th Anniversary and CBC
merchandise for sale.
Thanks for celebrating with Canada's own public broadcaster with a behind-the-scenes
glimpse into CBC-TV.
