QUICK AND EASY DOLL DRESS

Materials: 1 ball (1.75 oz) Lustersheen, Size 0 steel hook (or size B aluminum hook), twodolldress.jpg (121340 bytes) 3/8" shank type buttons, 6 inches 1/4" ribbon

Gauge: 3 dc rows and 5 dc = 1"

Fits 12" to 13" doll. Will also fit preemies!

SPECIAL STITCH: V-st = (dc, ch 1, dc) in designated st.

Dress is worked from the neck down.
ROW 1: Ch 52, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 6 ch, (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc [corner]) in next ch, dc in next 9 ch, corner in next ch, dc in next 15 ch, corner in next ch, dc in next 9 ch, corner in next ch, dc in last 7 ch. (63 dc and 4 ch-2 sps). Turn.

ROWS 2-5: Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), (dc to next ch-2 corner sp, work corner) 4 times, dc to end of row, turn. (127 dcs and 4 ch-2 sps after row 5)

ROW 6: Ch 3, dc in next 16 dc, 1 dc into corner sp, skip next 29 dc for sleeve, dc in next ch-2 corner sp, dc in next 35 dc, 1 dc into ch-2 corner sp, skip next 29 dc for sleeve, 1 dc into ch-2 corner sp, dc in last 17 dc, turn. (73 dc)

ROW 7: Ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st) across row, join with sl st in top of ch-3 at beginning of row. (98 dc)

WORK REMAINDER IN ROUNDS.

RND 1: Sl st in next st, ch 4, dc in same st, (skip 2 sts, V-st in next st) around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

RND 2: Ch 3, dc into each st and each ch-1 sp around, join.

RNDS 3-12: Repeat rnds 1 and 2. Finish off.

SLEEVES
With right side facing, attach thread with sl st to first dc of armhole, ch 3, dc in next 28 sts, then yo, insert hook into ch-2 spat corner on rnd 5, yo, pull thru, yo, pull thru 2 loops, yo insert hook into bottom of armhole, yo, pull through, yo, pull thru 2 loops, yo, insert hook into next ch-2 sp at corner on rnd 5, yo, pull thru, yo, pull thru 2 loops, yo and pull thru all 4 loops on hook.  Sl st to top of beg ch-3. (30 sts)   Work other sleeve in same manner.

NECK TRIM
Working on opposite side of foundation ch, attach thread with sc at back left neck edge, sc in each ch around, 3 sc into corner, then working around back opening, work 13 sc down right side, then working up left side, work 6 sc, ch 4 for buttonhole--DO NOT SKIP ANY STS -- 8 sc, ch 4 for buttonhole -- DO NOT SKIP ANY STS -- 2 sc in same st as joining, sl st in first sc, fasten off.

Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.   Tie ribbon in to bow and tack at center front (see photo above)
