Welcome to The Big One!, a website dedicated to British actor Dominic Monaghan. In case you didn't know, Dominic plays Merry, one of the hobbits in the film 'Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.' He will also appear in the other two parts of this trilogy, 'The Two Towers' and 'Return of the King.'
   Why is the site entitled The Big One!? This is a reference to one of Merry's lines in the movie. To know what I'm talking about, watch the movie. ;-)
   If you wish to send anything my way - news, articles, pictures, links, wallpaper, etc. - then don't hesitate to email me at xander1600@excite.com. Just please, do not send anything addressed to Dom himself, because he's not gonna get it. I guarantee it; I don't know him personally, and I sure as heck ain't Dom himself.

   Now isn't that just the perfect way to update this site? Even better: The Two Towers trailer (the shorter version to be attached to some summer movies) has been released online! Merry is barely in it, but it's awesome nonetheless. Your best bet is Movie List (you'll need Quicktime to view it), but do check out Orlando Bloom Multimedia for other sites to download it from.

   Just some minor site stuff. First of all, the first Top Ten List is finally up; check to your right, or for a better view, go here. Your next assignment? Top Ten Deleted Merry Scenes from FOTR.
   Also, for more than a month I asked what you guys think Dom is doing these days. Most of you said that he was either getting drunk at a pub or working on his script with Billy. Oddly enough, 17 of you believed he was hiding in a cave... Anyway, in light of the recent MTV Movie Awards, I want to ask: Which MTV Movie Award did LOTR:FOTR deserve most? The poll is to your right.

   Pardon the lack of updates. I've been at work for the last four days, and it's been very tiring so far.
   Anyway, perhaps the biggest news so far is the MTV Movie Awards. LOTR:FOTR took two Golden Popcorn Buckets (or whatever they're called): Best Film and Best Breakthrough Performance, Male (for Orlando Bloom). The cast was a no-show, however, and Peter Jackson accepted his award in a video-taped message straight from New Zealand.
   As far as site news is concerned, we've got eight great new AIM Buddy Icons, thanks to Megan. Check them out!

   It's a brand-new month, and now is a great time to unveil a brand-new site design! Yeehaw! Hope y'all like it.
   You may (or may not) notice a few new things. First is the audio section, where you can listen to Dom's bee-yoo-tee-full voice. Then there are the Top Ten Lists; check out that section to see how things work. (FYI, the list in your right isn't real. It's just a test of the space and such.) Finally, we have the Dom Store, where you can purchase some excellent Dominic Monaghan items. (We'll also have a Featured Item every now and then, and you can see that to your left.)
   Hopefully, I'll be able to run some contests in the near future. with some pretty cheap but fun prizes. This, of course, depends on my funding as well as interest. We'll see what happens.
   And before I forget, I've also got a great new affiliate, Elvish Dream. Check it out!
   Aside from this, nothing's new. Please, do sign the guestbook so I know what you think. (Just don't do anything to freak me out, okay?)
