Corel Announces Strategic Alliance with Philips to Include Latest FreeSpeech Technology in International Editions of WordPerfect® Office 2000

Ottawa, Canada — March 24, 1999— Corel Corporation is proud to announce that Philips' new speech recognition product will now be included in selected international versions of WordPerfect® Office 2000.

Philips newest generation of FreeSpeech, available in the middle of this year, is a continuous speech recognition product that provides state-of-the-art functionality with a dramatic increase in recognition performance.

Corel will continue to include Dragon NaturallySpeaking™ 3.0 in North American editions of WordPerfect Office 2000.
