RIYADH, Nov. 21: “We have a list of four players to chose from after the reopening of the transfer market, but Croat international striker Davor Suker isn’t amongst them,” confirmed Al-Nasr general secretary Khaled Al-Mayman today to London-based Saudi paper Asharq Al-Awsat.
Al-Nasr of Riyadh scored 9 goals out of their opening four league matches this season, the attacking input seeming beyond the club’s expectations, no that they are lying at the 7th spot on the table standings, trailing pace-setters Al-Ittihad by 5 points, ahead of tonight’s clash at home against the leaders.
“Tonight’s home fixture against Al-Ittihad will provide both strikers Cristian Castillo of Argentina and Congolese Rock Buskapa with the ultimate test, before taking the final decision about their status within the side for the current domestic competition,” stated the club chief.
“We thrive for the best at the squad level,” added Al-Mayman.
“We are currently discussing the chance of bringing new foreign players to foster the squad capabilities, despite having competed our three-player quota in the opening stage of the league championship, but everything regarding Davor Suker is just nonsense.
“He is not amongst the short-list of players we are interested in, at least for the time being.”
