Mike Davidson holds the distinction that at age 40 he was the youngest General in the United States Army.  When he retired from the Army, he was recognized as the longest, continuously serving general officer on the Joint Chiefs of Staff since the Joint Chiefs of Staff was created in 1948.

As Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he served as the Chairmanís principle adviser and personal liaison to the Adjutant Generalsí of the 54 states and territories; represented the Chairmanís position on Reserve Forces to Members of Congress, the various Associations, and on major Defense forums to include the Joint Requirements Oversight Council and the Quadrennial Defense Review.

Earlier, as Deputy Commander in Chief for the United States Special Operations Command, Mike oversaw all Armed Forces Reserve Special Operations forces worldwide.  As Deputy Commanding General for the US Army Special Operations Command, he organized and equipped Special Operations forces (Rangers, Civil Affairs, and Special Forces units) of both the Army Reserve and the Army National Guard.

A career special operations soldier, Mike served with the Airborne Ranger company of the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam.  He was appointed the Adjutant General of Kentucky in 1987 and served as a general officer until his retirement in 2001.
