SEAN KIERAN CONLON
born: 20 May 1981, Leeds, England

Sean Kieran Conlon was born to Kate and Dennis Conlon in the northern factory town of Leeds. His parents parted when he was young. His mixed racial heritage brought him some trouble, but it never got in his way. Sean was singing by the age of 4, not really a surprise in his musical family. He had dreams of being in the music business, but also of playing rugby (football, in England). Sean was an excellent footballer and could probably have made a career at it, but knew that his singing would suffer if he lost his teeth ...a common occurrence among ruggers. So, he concentrated on his music. He had his first recording session by age 11 and at age 13, won the prestigious Yamaha Young Composers competition, getting to perform on stage in London in front of Andrew Lloyd Weber and Elton John. He was then enrolled in a performing arts school.  Encouraged by his Mom, Sean auditioned for FIVE ...he was the youngest, only 15 at the time (and underage for the auditions!) and he had to have a school tutor when he first joined the group, though that didn't last long...

Some SEAN tidbits: 

...has a scar on his right eye from a bicycle accident as a child and a big scar on his chin from a light bulb exploding in his face in NYC when Five first started
...sang his own song "Dream Girl" at his Five audition
...he hates being told to "smile"...Sean is just naturally reserved, but NOT moody. Laid-back is a good description.
...can be incredibly lazy when it comes to housework or things he doesn't want to do.
...contrary to his quiet stage persona, Sean is quite the club dancer
...is very bad with high tech gadgets. Never remembers phone numbers.
...stays up late and gets up later. LOVES clubbing and going out to listen to music.
...had a stomach operation when he was 14
...spends little money on himself - he is quite the 'saver'
...extremely shy with the ladies UNTIL he gets to know them
...likes older women with little make-up or polish; faithful and caring
...really dislikes cats and marmite (a brown paste you put on toast)
...can be very stubborn and opinionated
...probably the most musically talented Fiver
...smokes occasionally
...writes a lot of FIVE's music. Helps the others with writing down their musical ideas.
...has a great sense of humor and loves doing imitations of people
