Fans Come Out for AIM Taxi Dance
After spending my day at home writing reviews and making sure that news from the show went up on AVN.com, I headed over to Hollywood’s King King Club to experience the industry’s first taxi dance. I really wanted to cover this because I am a huge fan of the concept and the romance of the whole thing- a small financial transaction for the innocent yet flirtatious interaction with someone you see across a crowded floor and just have to have that single moment with.
In the name of science, I brought AVN freelance reviewer (self-proclaimed king of the big tit and trannie vids) Dana Jones along with me because I was pretty sure that the girls available for dancing would be in larger number than the guys that I would want to dance with (I turned out to be right) and when I told my dear friend/fellow porn hound Anthony who lives in the Midwest about this, he told me he wanted an avatar present. I needed a guy who could dance with the porn stars in the name of the fans who couldn’t make it into Hollywood that night. It seemed like the right thing to do so I called Dana to make the date and it was on.
The club itself is a big space with loads of chinoiserie and a large red windmill sharing space along with several little booths with round tables and a full bar- a good thing for Dana as he was beginning to get cold feet about the whole dancing with porn stars thing. No worries, though- after two gin and tonics, he was good to go.
Stars available for dances included AIM founder Sharon Mitchell, Shay Sights and Nick Manning, Jewels, Alexis on Fire, Ruby, Dru Berrymore, Chantz Fortune, Violet Blue, Brooke Hunter ("Wow! Is that Tod Hunter’s sister?", Dana asked me when I pointed her out for him) and Don Hollywood and Tony Montana, along with various newbie starlets that were floating around wearing very little. Present during the evening also were director Roy Karch, Ernest Greene, Mr. Marcus and Tony Tedeschi.
Candye Kane did her set with her band and they rocked with the ultra-buxom songstress taking on classics like "At Last" and "Fever". It was, appropriately enough, to this latter song that Dana worked up the nerve to use one of the tickets that I bought him to dance with Sharon Mitchell.
"Mitch is in fabulous shape," Dana said. "She is a specimen, that’s for sure, just an incredible dancer." Dana ended up dancing with her twice and they both looked like they were having a blast.
Dana didn’t stop there. Here’s what he had to say on the other performers.
Dana on Shay Sights: "Shay Sights and I talked about a big tit movie I had just seen here in and she stopped dancing to tell Nick that I had seen her in it. She was wearing a cute outfit that really showed off her frame. Shay smelled really good, nice perfume or something."
Dana on Chantz Fortune: "She had a cowboy hat on and she was great to chat with while we danced. Really pretty girl, good dancer. She told me that she wasn’t used to dancing with anyone because she usually dances alone as a feature on stage."
Dana on Violet Blue: "A very enthusiastic dancer. I had read her interview on Insider and we talked about the logging town where she’s from. She was really bubbly and sweet."
Dana on Ruby: "She was wearing this great tight black dress and she has really been working out from when I saw her in that first Buttman movie she was in. She’s a very good dancer."
A lot of men were in attendance and they drank and watched the floor. It had a vaguely high school feel to it but it was still fun and got lively once Teri Weigel and Amber Lynn ("T and A") took the stage to the strains of No Doubt’s "Just a Girl". Teri was in baby pink and Amber was in baby blue and the two writhed together well.
It was during this song that I realized that Dana was pretty fucked up on gin and it was time to haul his sorry ass back to the Valley as I had to cover the straight news of the show for AVN.com the next day. In the process of gathering up Dana, I watched as the two legends were pulling a fan/their next victim up on stage. Fun stuff and it was cool watching this great American tradition take on a porno edge.
