High Society: It’s Not Just a Magazine Any More
On the Set of Blue Horizon Video/High Society'sPurely 18/The Making of a High Society Model
"Hi, honey," comes director Wesley Emerson's typical softly-voiced greeting, so as not to disturb the tail end of what looked to be a very hot hot-tub scene between new starlet Elizabeth DelMar and Joey Ray. The pair are wetly slapping loins in doggie position, and from her moans, DelMar appears to be enjoying it immensely.
The vid is the first volume of Blue Horizon Video Productions/High Society's Purely 18 series, which, not so oddly, is also the title of one of the company's publications... and therein lies a sales strategy.
"It's a natural," says Bob Johnson, who's heading up video production for Blue Horizon. "They have the marketing machines in the magazines, a half-million a month circulation, so there's a leg up on a lot of other people. We have the advantage of a branded name; we know talent, and we'll be promoting the movies in the magazine, and readers and viewers will be able to cross-reference and see their favorite girls in the shows and in the magazine."
This imminently-successful cross-pollination strategy between the videos and pictorials is easy to understand. Take, for instance, Felix Vicious, a beautiful 18-year-old redhead with more piercings than one can shake a stick at (although her nipples and labia are devoid of metal; interesting), who essays a volcanic encounter with Lee Stone that includes finger-fucking, doggie, mish and an energetic reverse cowgirl ride, all on the edge of a large bathtub. Then there’s Gen Padova, featured in a recent issue of AVN’s Fresh Off The Bus section. Unfortunately, we can only stay for one scene, but it’s a killer: Jewel De'Nyle, in one of her last scenes for a production company other than her own, is paired up with new male talent Manuel, who despite his name is actually French.
This feature is helmed by the highly talented Skye Blue, and features De'Nyle as a current High Society model, with Manuel as her lover. The pair get right down to some hot pussy-licking, and before anyone knows it, De'Nyle's climbed on top and is banging away in reverse cowgirl mode. Some spoon and mish follow, but it's when she bends over a chair and spreads her ass for Manuel's cock that things really move into high gear. We won't know how much of this long scene makes the final cut, but the set is most definitely rocking for nearly half an hour, with De'Nyle and Manuel working up enough sweat to soak a couple of towels.
Blue Horizon plans to release at least two features per month at first, all through Bizarre Video's distribution arm.
Johnson feels this strategy will give the tapes the attention they deserve.
