JAMES HECKEL: WE TRULY DESERVED TO BE BOMBED

Dear Editor,

Firstly, I must commend you on a well-done website. I found it to be excellent and easy to browse. Good show!

Secondly, as a citizen of the US, let me add my voice of outrage over my country's cowardly, imperialistic attacks on the rest of the world. We truly deserved to be bombed. We have a saying here in America "What goes around comes around". This means that the way you treat others will be the way others treat you, and if others treat you badly, you probably deserve it.

Please note that what our government is doing DOES NOT reflect the desires of the average American. These decisions are made by the few in power, and not by us. We want this imperialism to come to an end, but who listens?

We had a sham election that put Bush in power, despite the fact that he lost the popular vote. I ask PRAVDA.Ru to let the world know that "democracy" and "freedom" here in America are total lies. The only thing that matters to the power brokers is what Bill Gates and other imperialists want.

I predict that the United States won't exist as a superpower much longer. If you want evidence, you need look no further than England or France. They were superpowers; now they are not. I would encourage those in Europe, Asia and the rest of the world to boycott American goods and buy only from your own countries. That would be a big help.

If you want to see what real, peaceful Americans believe, look at the website for our Libertarian Party: http://www.lp.org or
http://www.self-gov.org

Good luck! You have my permission to publish my real name and hometown. I am not at all ashamed of my opinions.

James Heckel

Sincerely,
Jim H.

CHARLIE REDCAT: I WISH I COULD READ SOMETHING ABOUT THE PEOPLE NOT THE GOVERNMENT IN PRAVDA.RU
There is not doubt that the U.S. government will use this tragedy in New York to get some business taken care of. It may not be the business that the American PEOPLE want but with all the propaganda how are the people to know what they want when we aren't given the facts. More detail...

FRANKLIN WILLIAMS: CORRECTIONS OF SOME ERRORS IN YESTERDAY'S REPORTING OF PRAVDA.RU
First, it was said that your correspondent reported that the U.S. was without communications. That was not true. The only communications problems were with telephone calls coming out of and into New York City and Washington, D.C. The rest of the country was just fine. More detail...

OUR READER VELJKO ABOUT TRADEGY IN USA: PLEASE, STOP VIOLENCE AND START LIVING IN PEACE THIS VIOLENT ACT WAS NOTHING UNEXPECTED
To all human race: If we want to survive, this worldwide violence has to stop, now! I am scared in what kind of world my children will have to grow up. I wish I was never witness of horror in Croatia in 1991. I wish I was never witness of horror in Bosnia in 1993. I wish I was never witness of horror in Kosovo in 1999. I wish I was never witness of horror in Macedonia in 2001. But I was. And that's just a small fragment of what is going on in this poor world for the past 55 years. More detail...

ENGLISH EDITOR TO NEIL RICHARDS: WE SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR IMMENSE GRIEF AND WE ARE WITH ALL OF YOU
Neil, I do not think that Timothy is smiling in his article. You may be exaggerating. This is a greatest terrorist attack the world has ever seen. I could not imagine such horrific cataclysm could happen. Everybody is shocked in Russia (may be except some crazy-men). More detail...

14:02
OUR READER NEIL RICHARDS CONCERNING THE ARTICLE FORTRESS AMERICA PENETRATED EVERYTHING YOU HOPED FOR THE AMERICANS HAS COME TRUE
Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey writes (quote) The fact is that however horrific the events of today have been, and everyone around the world remembers the families of the victims on such an occasion, this has been a much expected occurrence and in a perverse way, the USA is lucky the attack was not carried out with a nuclear or biological weapon (unquote). CHARLES TEASLEY: DEATH TOLL ESTIMATES
Just wanted to post an update. The estimated death toll in New York City is 10,000. The Pentagon death toll is expected to be much lower. Fox News was quoted as saying that only 40 people are being treated for injuries in the Washington D.C. area. Many Thanks, Charles TEASLEY THE TERRORIST ATTACK HAPPENED THIS MORNING HAS FORCED ALL MAJOR INTERNET NEWS SITES IN THE US TO BE OVERLOADED

12:23
MATT: THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO QUESTION THE MOTIVES OF MY OWN COUNTRY FROM THE OUTSIDE-IN
I appreciate the candor with which you deliver the news to your audience. The American media tends to focus on strengthening negative stereotypes while over-hyping stories that serve no purpose beyond simple sensationalism. More detail...

CHARLES TEASLEY: THE TERRORIST ATTACK HAPPENED THIS MORNING HAS FORCED ALL MAJOR INTERNET NEWS SITES IN THE US TO BE OVERLOADED
Just wanted to say thank you for a different view point of world affairs. Pravda reports on some things that don't make the news here in the U.S. The terrorist attack that happened this morning has forced all major internet news sites in the US to be overloaded. More detail...

KORHAN PEHLIVANOGLU: ABOUT ARMENIAN (SO CALLED) GENOSITE
Hello, I first of all want to say that I believe there has been lots of dead in eastern Anatolia but it was some kind of a war that Russia is now forced to do with Chechens. It's some kind of repeatation-of-history: Russians were to help them underground then; and we are now accused of it as Turkey I mean. More detail...

14:49
NEIL RICHARDS: GET OUT, STAY OUT AND CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND YOU! GOOD RIDDANCE!
These are the words that Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey used to end his article of September 5 about the Human Rights Conference in Durban that the United States and Israel decided to walk out on. I have my own thoughts about the conference which have been formed through gathering information from a number of national and international news sources. More detail...

WALT WENTZ: I COMMITTED THE CARDINAL SIN OF JOURNALISM

HCARLISLE: CONCERNING "ISRAEL'S IDEOLOGY OF OCCUPATION"
I am not surprised that the Anti-American Anti-Discrimination Committee poll showed that only 3 or 4 percent of Americans think that there is an Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. I am, however, proud that I am in that 3 or 4 percent. More detail...

S ASHFIELD: YOU CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT ANY NEWS SERVICE TELLS YOU TO BE ANYTHING LIKE THE WHOLE TRUTH
It was at first refreshing to find Pravda's english language site and read an alternative view of the "news." This said, it is about as believable as the news from the BBC and CNN. All news providers are ultimately tarred with the same brush, who would wish to deliver us (the masses) news and why? More detail...

TIMOTHY BANCROFT-HINCHEY: REPLY TO ED RIVERS AND NEIL RICHARDS
Sirs, It is interesting to see both your letters about my articles. The fact that you write proves our point. PRAVDA.Ru is an open and democratic paper and we welcome a diversity of opinions. You see, Russia is not exactly what you have been spoon-fed on for so long. More detail...

LARRY W. HOLLOWAY: "IRONICALLY ENCOURAGED"
PRAVDA.Ru Editor: It is encouraging and astoundingly interesting to watch Russia transform itself into a modern democracy. The general objectivity reflected in the PRAVDA.Ru news articles, including the Soviet style commentary is, I believe, a positive attempt to express honest Russian sentiment. More detail...

10:48
JENNIFER BROWN: I AM TIRED OF READING HOW PRESIDENT BUSH IS AN IDIOT. IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON TO MORE IMPORTANT NEWS
Dear Pravda, I have always had a fascination with Russian history, culture, and language (which I am still trying to learn). When I found out that Pravda was available online, I was very excited because of the historical significance of the paper itself, along with the viewpoints from another culture. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with what I read, not just with the articles, but with the letters to the editor as well. More detail...

WALT WENTZ: PRAVDA.RU IS, I AM SURE, A LABOR OF LOVE FOR ITS WORKERS
Hello, Inna! Regarding your invitation to comment on PRAVDA.Ru: As associate editor of a magazine for the past 25 years, I hope my comments may be taken as constructive. I skim through the PRAVDA.Ru website almost every day, and find it useful as a source of news from areas little known in the United States More detail...

UNCLE SAM: I TRULY HOPE THE CHECHEN CONFLICT NEVER ENDS
At the same time I am even more so please to see that the Chechen war is going very very well, now entering its third year. Every day two or three Ruskies are liquidated and the world made better place. I truly hope the conflict never ends because the Chechens have done a lot towards a better society and continue to do so with every Russian they help leave this world for another much darker and hotter place. More detail...

JOHN W. HAZOURI, TOM CURTAIN: PRAVDA - IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
Dear Inna, We are enjoying reading Pravda! It's a breath of fresh air. We visited Pressa Complex, last fall while visiting my family and friends in Moscow. I have the utmost respect for your organization. In sincere regard, John W. Hazouri, Tom Curtain

10:58
CHARLES BYRNELL CONCERNING THE ARTICLE "PROTESTANTS ATTACK CATHOLIC CHILDREN IN NORTHERN IRELAND"
I found the article factually interesting but superficial in its value judgments. The right of self determination of indigenous African peoples has been championed by the United Nations for a long time, and those rights must equally pertain to non-African peoples. Belfast is but a concentrated microcosm of the same struggles common to many ex-colonial countries. More detail...
