|About the WCAS||Women,
Children and Security
We are a non-governmental
organisation working to empower socially and financially disavantaged women
and children. WCAS are working on projects to benefit those who
have suffered human rights violations, through conflict and war situations.
Currently, WCAS are carrying out programmes to promote literacy and communication through the use of information technologies. They are in the
process of creating a computer and ICT system for women and children in Kampala. The objective is to foster understanding, devolopment, democracy and peace.
Peace Habomugisha is the Director of WCS. She has a degree in Policical Science from Makerere University, Uganda, and a Master's in Sociology from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada. Peace has also studied Peace and Conlfict Resolution in Austria, plus Development, Law and Social Justice in the Netherlands. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Makerere University. Since 1991 she has been researching gender related issues :-
