Iowa State's Carstens And Whitver Earn Verizon Academic All-America Honors

Iowa State defensive tackle Jordan Carstens and wide receiver Jack Whitver have been named to the Verizon Academic All-America Football Teams. Carstens was a first-team selection. Whitver earned a spot on the second team. Iowa State is one of eight teams nationally to have more than one player recognized.

Carstens is an agricultural business major who has 97 tackles and six sacks this fall. Whitver, a junior in athletic eligibility, graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science in August. He is currently enrolled in Iowa State's MBA program. Whitver has 50 catches for 667 yards this season.
