Before you contact us,
here are answers to two common concerns:

Q: I have released or am promoting a new CD. Where can I send it?

A: Well, first you should probably know that Pitchfork already receives somewhere in the realm of 500+ CDs per month, and as much as we try to get to all of it, our current run of four-reviews-every-weekday only gets us through about 80 of them. We do listen to about 75% of the records that come through, though, and if something does strike us, we'll find room for it. Regardless, we encourage people to give it a shot (but, for the record, we generally do not review self-released material). The address is:

Q: Can I write for you?

A: Maybe. We're always accepting submissions, but we're really very picky. We usually discourage writers with little-to-no experience from applying because they rarely make the cut, but we'll accept submissions from pretty much anyone. If you want to try your luck, make sure you follow all of our submission guidelines, which can be found here.
