Alana's Involuntary Celibacy Project

What is involuntary celibacy?

This article explains what my Involuntary Celibacy project is about.

There's no official definition, but here are some possible definitions. Involuntary celibacy can be abbreviated as "incel" or "invcel". Here are some alternative terms for involuntary celibacy.

Other forms of celibacy

If you are involuntarily celibate within a marriage, you can also check out the Marital Celibacy website.

A celibacy-by-choice movement got publicity a few years ago. Check the Publicly Accessible Mailing Lists for the Celibate Life mailing list.

There is a Celibacy Forum at http://www.geocities.com/wellesley/5953/cpage.html and a mailing list for celibates at http://www.egroups.com/group/celibacy. Yahoo has a club as well.

Most remaining Web sites on celibacy discuss voluntary celibacy for religious or moral reasons.

What you can do

If you would like to talk or tell your story, join the mailing list. You can also send me your story, but please understand if I don't respond. Incel is still a very personal topic for me, and sometimes I just don't want to talk about it. For the same reason, I don't update this website very often.

All readers should note that I am not a professional counsellor of any kind, just someone who has experienced involuntary celibacy.
