Too bad that's not real. I think I would actually pay for that. There's no such thing as too much monitor real estate.------------------ "He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. HAHAHAHA, GOLD PLATED TITANIUM! That cracks me up. It's pretty widely known that there isn't a slot loading superdrive being made yet and until there is, there wont be one in the TiBooks. Im still laughing about the gold plated thing...

John can't come to the forums right now because he's to busy eating crow and we all know how tough that can be

When the feathers start going up into your sinus and the quills start stabbing the tonsils, you know the bird is undercooked. Be careful not to gag. The crow should be crisp without being burned. (visit a local Kentucky Fried Chicken for an in-depth tutorial). Some crow-eaters who need to eat a lot of crow just have to put it into a heavy duty blender so that the cartilage is ground up. That could be cheating however as are any spices or sauces. And that is what eating crow is all about.

edit: I said something rather unnecessarily rude, and interestingly we aren't allowed to delete our own posts around here.[This message has been edited by Cynic (edited 11-06-2002).]

yeah yeah. I was wrong, I can admit it. Hey, Im glad Im wrong actually. I did want a gold plated titanium one though. It would be the perfect accessory to my 78 cutlass with 100 spoke gold dubs.

*Cough* http://www.apple.com/powerbook/ quote: When the Apple SuperDrive first appeared on high-end Power Mac G4 workstations, the reaction was instantaneous — and unanimous. After all, before Apple introduced the SuperDrive, DVD recording systems typically cost over $15,000. Suddenly, thanks to the SuperDrive and iDVD 2 software, DVD-burning capabilities were within the reach of all Power Mac customers. And we worked hard to bring this great technology to the PowerBook G4.

sigh, did you actually read the rest of the thread? I acknowledged that I was wrong, but until today, there wasn't a superdrive in the powerbooks. I work for Apple, I know when a new product is announced, just like everyone else. Everything I have read prior to this was that a slot loading DVD was not being manufactured by anyone. I was happily surprised.

*****Quote: "Im still laughing about the gold plated thing..." ...."I did want a gold plated titanium one though. It would be the perfect accessory to my 78 cutlass with 100 spoke gold dubs."*****Another needle for John (a friendly one, John, so put away the pen knife) - titanium oxide actually can have a very nice gold color. I fact, "gold" colored watch cases are often just TiO2. The idea of a gold colored Ti case on a powerbook is something that might not be too expensive to manufacture, so don't put it past the boys in the back room of your employer's design dept. The decision would likely be made on the basis of style considerations rather than feasibility. And may I complement you on your ability to take a ribbing. Much better than some folks on various threads. (he said, trying his best to discourage the use of sharp pointed metalic objects.)

I never doubted that gold colored titanium could be done, just that it wouldn't be done by Apple any time soon. Well, at least until Steve is ousted once more and George Clinton and the P Funk Allstarz are put in place.

Off Topic, but Are you involved with KTUH? The reason I ask is that someone from the station has contacted a band that I designed a site for. I was just curious if you were actually involved with the station.

LOL, sorry. Cynic deleted something that seemed like part of the conversation so it seemed rather weird, the Ti books, then about eating dead crow...

Off Topic, yes John, I am indeed involved with the station. And yes, I have contacted bands that I personally felt had some good music needing to be shared. Oh yeah, my "disc jockey" name is actually Mediocre Sau. Coincidence? I think not. ------------------ The University of Hawai'i at Manoa's Apple User Group: www2.hawaii.edu/~gapi

Ah, I didn't even put the two together. The band Im talking about is Crashing at Dawn. I don't know if they got back with you about getting you a demo, but I do know that they are finishing the new demo and it sounds a thousand times better than what is on the site. I should have the new MP3s up by tonight.
