LAUSITZ, Germany--The pre-race warm-up session for today's inaugural American Memorial at the 2.023-mile EuroSpeedway tri-oval is now complete. Mo Nunn Racing's Tony Kanaan recorded the fastest time of 35.288, with an average speed of 206.382 mph. Alex Zanardi was second at 35.570 (204.746 mph), and Paul Tracy third with a fastest lap of 35.675 (204.143 mph)
The 30-minute session was especially important for CART drivers and teams today with rain significantly limiting track time. With qualifying washed out, points leader Gil de Ferran has the pole with Kenny Brack, Helio Castroneves and Michael right behind him.
