Jupiter Lens Company is one of the leading opto / mechanical manufacturing facilities, located in Western Russia, halfway between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The production facility was established in early 1980s and it is now equipped with the latest automated machine tools and optical production systems, including banks of multi spindle CNC Machining Centers, Lathes, Engraving Machines, Jig Borers and many lines for semi-automated optical lens production and inspection equipment. The Jupiter Plant has also a big automated paint shop and coating facility, that makes its production totally self-sufficient. The labour force is of exceptional skill. Jupiter Company has its own sponsored Academy. Training includes Physics, Optics, Precision Engineering and additional course in foreign languages, particularly in English and German. Due to its high quality and reliability Jupiter has been accepted under ISO9001 accreditation by the Scientific Instrument Research Association (SIRA) of the United Kingdom. Jupiter became the only optical production facility in Russia that was accepted there in spite of strict conditions. Today Jupiter is producing large numbers of Night Vision Devices for export as well as photo lenses, for which Jupiter is famous. It supplied lenses for Russian cameras from the very beginning, in particular for Zenit. Jupiter has set out to capture a market for the subcontract production of optics and subassemblies, for which the production facility is extremely well equipped.
