As mentioned earlier, I designed most of the graphics on these pages myself. Although my artistic skills (with a pencil) suck, I quite like fooling around with computer graphics. Ten years ago, it was hardly possible : using a C64 (320x200 monochrome or 160x200 4-color graphics !) and carefully placing each pixel did not result in anything worth mentioning here.
Fortunately, I now own a Pentium-based system, which allows me to use powerful programs to create any graphics I want, limited only by the kindergarten-level of my artistic abilities. The programs mentioned below are my personal favourites, and no other tools have been used in creating the pictures shown on these pages.
As far as I can tell the best freeware raytracing package available. No modeller, though, every object has to be coded by hand, unless you use a converter that can convert e.g. DXF files to POV-format. Everything that's slightly 3D on these pages has been made with POV-Ray. The animated rainbow-flag, for example. Want to see te source-code ?
I wrote a macro-package, enabeling you, the user, to control
POV-Ray from whithin my favourite editor, NEdit. It gives
NEdit much of the functionality of the Windows editor that
comes with POV-Ray for Windows. If you want to try it out,
just click the link below to download the package :
