About Venlafaxine


Venlafaxine is one of the newer antidepressant drugs known as SSNRIs (Selective Serotonin and Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors). It is a structurally novel antidepressant drug and is chemically unrelated to any other available antidepressant.

The drug is manufactured by Wyerth-Ayerst Laboratories, a division of American Home Products Corporation and was licensed in it's various forms between December 1993 and October 1997.
