Yes, we are primitive, but they are savages,
Yes, we are drunks, but they are alcoholics,
Yes, we are killing, but they are slaughtering.

"There is always intense pressure in wartime for media outlets to serve as propagandists rather than journalists.
While the role of the journalist is to present the world in all its complexity, so that people can make up their own minds,
the propagandist simplifies the world in order to mobilize the public behind a common goal."

"The Truth" About War in Yugoslavia
"Bombin' Bill going mano a mano against the Sadistic Slobo"

We made a mistake. We should stop the war in Yugoslavia. Now. Today. This hour. We should not drop another bomb in that country. We should pull back, apologize, and offer to help repair the damage we've created. As we near the end of our second week of bombing, it's clear that we screwed up. If we keep going, we'll only screw up more. Remember our objective? We were going to stop the "cleansing" of ethnic Albanians in the province of Kosovo. Did we stop it? No, we helped speed the process, so that now a huge percentage of ethnic Albanians are either out of Kosovo or dead. We can't stop something that's already happened. Our mission is over. We failed.
